Rosreestr participates in the meeting of the Board of the Association "EuroGeographics"

Deputy head of the Federal service for state registration, cadastre and cartography (Rosreestr) Constantine, Koltonyuk participates in the meeting of the Board of EuroGeographics (EuroGeographics), which takes place in Brussels (Belgium). Konstantin Koltonyuk as the representative rosreestra elected to the Board in October 2016 for a period of two years.

At the meeting to discuss the implementation of the projects "European location" and "European location-based services", as well as issues of cooperation of the Association with the United Nations Committee of experts on global geospatial information management for Europe and cooperation with the European environment Agency (EEA). Board members approved the signing of a partnership agreement between "EuroGeographics" and EEA. The agreement provides for the exchange of knowledge between organizations, and joint work on ensuring harmonization of geospatial data for Europe using satellite Earth observation, which provides continuous monitoring of the atmosphere, oceans and land.

The project "European geospatial Foundation" is the first stage of creation of the spatial data infrastructure of the European Union. In its implementation involved a number of public, private and scientific organizations, including national mapping and cadastral agencies, universities and commercial companies. The Association "EuroGeographics" coordinates the implementation of the main directions of the project, plays a key role in the dissemination of information and the interoperability of its participants. The project started in 2013 and currently moved to a two-year phase of testing under the leadership of EuroGeographics.

At the Board meeting also discussed the implementation of the key performance indicators of the Association, the development of which was attended by Rosreestr.

The Board is headed by the President directs the activities of EuroGeographics. The Board consists of 9 members, six of whom are elected at the meeting of the General Assembly. The remaining three Directors are appointed by the founders of the Association "EuroGeographics" France, Germany and the UK.

International non-profit Association "EuroGeographics" brings together more than 60 public service of registration, inventory and mapping of 46 countries. Since 2009, Rosreestr on the basis of the order of the Government of the Russian Federation provides participation of the Russian Federation in the activities of EuroGeographics.

The objectives of the Association are to encourage cooperation between the national services of member associations; development of projects of interest to members of the Association, and implementation of products and services developed by such projects; the creation of a European spatial data infrastructure; participation in the implementation of European Union programmes in the field of geodesy and cartography.
